Frequently Asked Questions

How do I start working with you?2024-08-22T11:28:51-04:00

The first step is to book a Discovery Call, which is a free 15-minute consultation for 1:1 Coaching. We will discuss your goals and how coaching works and decide if we are a good fit for working together.

If you’re interested in Group Coaching, you do not need a Discovery Call and can sign up whenever you are ready!

Why aren’t there any Discovery Calls available?2024-08-22T11:25:46-04:00

Discovery Calls can only be booked out one week in advance. If the schedule shows there’s nothing available, it just means there’s nothing available in the next week. Check back tomorrow morning and try to book the spot that opens up for the following week. I take Discovery Calls on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.

If you are serious about coaching but having trouble getting a Discovery Call time, don’t hesitate to email me (kelly@kellybaums.com) and I’ll open something up for you!

What is a coaching session like?2024-08-22T11:53:27-04:00

Coaching sessions are 45 minutes long and generally follow the structure below:

  • Identify what the focus of the session will be

  • Determine a desired outcome or measure of success for the focus

  • Explore the topic through thoughtful questioning

  • Discuss the unique ways ADHD may be impacting the challenge

  • Collaborate to build a tool/solution/plan to take a step toward the desired outcome

  • Review action items and new understandings

Coaching is a time when we sit down together and take a deeper look at something that’s going on in your life. I support you in understanding how your brain works, recognizing patterns, updating belief systems, and finding meaningful solutions for whatever you’re struggling with at the moment.

How much does it cost to work with you?2024-08-22T11:25:18-04:00

Please see the graphics above for details on my coaching packages and rates.

Do I have to have an ADHD (or ADD) diagnosis to work with you?2024-08-22T11:24:40-04:00

I work with clients whether they have a diagnosis or not.

Is there ever homework?2024-08-22T11:22:30-04:00

Usually at the end of a session clients will leave with something to try out or work on. I prefer to call them “experiments” because the goal is less about completion, and more about testing out tools and learning about what works best for you.

Do you work with people outside the US?2024-08-22T11:20:52-04:00

Yes! I work with people from all around the world.

What types of things can I talk about in coaching?2024-08-22T11:20:30-04:00

Coaching is about meeting you where you’re at and helping you get to where you want to be. Typically we focus each session around one or more specific areas you’d like to grow in. They can be ADHD specific, but they don’t have to be.

Some ideas:

  • Emotional regulation

  • Motivation & task initiation

  • Maintaining healthy relationships

  • Setting boundaries

  • Managing stress, overwhelm, and burnout

  • Perfectionist tendencies

  • Routines and habits

  • Deciding what’s important and what to let go of

  • Prioritizing/managing tasks and time

  • Breaking down big goals and difficult tasks

Additionally, some clients will choose to use our time just chatting and getting clarity about how ADHD is showing up in their life, or they’ll ask me to sit with them while they clean out a closet or start on a task they’ve had difficulty starting on. You’re welcome to use our time together however it’ll help you most.

How is ADHD Coaching different from regular life coaching?2024-07-12T16:48:14-04:00

ADHD coaching is similar to regular life coaching, but it takes place within the lens of ADHD. Our brains function differently and learning to support and appreciate those differences is something an ADHD Coach can help you do!

Tammy

Kelly was a true lifesaver for me. I was going through a very stressful period in my life and with my adhd had been unable to really move forward. I met with Kelly almost weekly through this and was able to get through it all by the deadline I had .she is wonderful and I would highly recommend her to anyone!!!

Jamie

I have had an excellent experience working with Kelly! When we started our coaching sessions, I was still learning about my ADHD and how it affects my life. Kelly was able to meet me where I was and provide achievable, individualized strategies to understand and manage my ADHD. She is non-judgemental, patient, thoughtful, organized, and extremely knowledgeable. I highly recommend Kelly if you are looking for an ADHD coach!

Rachel

Kelly is a great ADHD coach! She is kind, supportive and helps you find real solutions to everyday ADHD struggles. She guided me through healthy habits, scheduling, budgeting, rejection sensitivity and more! I looked forward to each meeting and felt more at ease/confident afterwards.
