Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Kelly, Coaching, and her Resources

1:1 Coaching

How do I start 1:1 coaching?

The first step is to book a Discovery Call, which is a free 30-minute consultation for 1:1 Coaching. We will discuss your goals, how coaching works, and which coach we think will be a great fit for you! You can peek at each of the coach's profiles in the About section of the site.

Why aren't there any Discovery Calls available?

Discovery Calls can only be booked out one week in advance. If the schedule shows there's nothing available, it just means there's nothing available in the next week. Check back tomorrow morning and try to book the spot that opens up for the following week. I take Discovery Calls on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. If you are serious about coaching but having trouble getting a Discovery Call time, don't hesitate to email me at [email protected] and I'll open something up for you!

Do I have to have an ADHD Diagnosis to work with you?

No, we work with clients whether they have an ADHD diagnosis or not. We also have coaches that specialize in other types of neurodivergence.

Do you work with couples?

Yes, we have coaches that specialize in working with couples!

Do you work with youth clients?

Yes, we have coaches that specialize in working with youth clients age 13 and up!

Is there ever homework?

Think less 'homework' and more 'action step.' Often at the end of the session, you'll leave with some sort of tool, strategy, understanding, or small clear step to try to help you move toward your goals!

I'm terrible at follow-through and worried coaching won't work for me.

Struggling with follow-through is totally normal for ADHD brains! And all of the coaches here are experienced at supporting clients who struggle with follow-through. We have lots of ideas to support you and help you make progress toward your goals!

Do you work with clients around the world?

Yes! Several of our coaches are based outside the US and we work with people from all over the world.

Is there a long-term commitment?

No, we do billing on a monthly basis with the option to pause or cancel at any time!

How long do people usually do coaching for?

As you'd probably guess, this is totally individual! But what I notice is that some people come in with a very narrow, single focus like needing support for being more productive at work. These clients may just need a little boost of coaching and may stay for just 2-3 months. Other clients come in with a broader multitude of focuses, like work productivity, relationship communication, emotional regulation, and keeping up around the house. These clients often stick around longer, say for 6 months, 9 months, or over a year, since there's more to work on. Either is fine, and we are here to support you for as long as you need it!

What type of accountability do you offer?

In 1:1 coaching, your coach will check in with you each and every session on the action items you decided upon in the last session. They'll also help you problem-solve when follow-through doesn't happen! Additionally, your coach will help you track all the strategies, tools, information, and everything you work on together in a document that you'll be able to print off and keep at the end of your time coaching.

Group Coaching

How many people are in a group session?

Up to 8 people may sign up for a session (and up to 3 people may sign up for coaching spots in each session).

Is Group Adults Only?

Yes.

What can the coach support me with?

You can work on regular day-to-day things or larger goals like: Prioritizing the day's to do list, Preparing for a conversation about work accommodations, ADHD Friendly motivation strategies, Creating an ADHD friendly routine, Brainstorming solutions to lowering screen time, Dealing with overwhelm, and anything else that's coming up as a challenge or a goal you want to work on!

What if I sign up to be coached and I change my mind when I get to the session?

Totally okay to change your mind! Just let your coach know when you arrive to the session, and you can listen or body double instead. Same goes for if you signed up for a Listening Spot and want to be coached. Let your coach know, and if there's room, you'll be moved to a Coaching Spot.

Will I get coached every session I attend?

When you sign up for your sessions, you reserve a spot to either be coached or to listen. Each session has a maximum of 3 coaching spots. If you choose to listen, you'll get to learn, contribute ideas and support, or body double while a coach holds you accountable to get some work done. Boost members (1x Weekly Group) get coached at least twice a month if they like. Pro members (Unlimited Group) get coached at least once per week if they like.

What is Body doubling?

It's a productivity strategy where you have someone present with you while you work on hard-to-initiate or hard-to-finish tasks. For us, it looks like being on a Zoom call with other people also working on their own tasks!

Getting coached in front of others sounds scary?!

Eek yes! It can definitely be scary to open up in front of others. But I promise that by the end of the hour, you'll feel welcomed, seen, and supported. Others in the group are just like you and we all validate each other. If you're working on more self-kindness and acceptance with your ADHD, group is a great place to find that. Plus, this means you get to listen and learn from others being coached!

What if I decide Group isn't for me?

No problem! There's no long term commitment, and you can cancel at anytime (hassle-free!) via a quick email or by letting the coach know in a session.

How often does Kelly coach groups?

Kelly typically hosts 3 sessions per week. Please note, the coaching schedule is subject to change due to demand and Kelly's availability.

Pricing and Policies

What is a coaching session like?

Coaching sessions are 45 minutes long and generally follow this structure: Identify what the focus of the session will be, Determine a desired outcome or measure of success for the focus, Explore the topic through thoughtful questioning, Discuss the unique ways ADHD may be impacting the challenge, Collaborate to build a tool/solution/plan to take a step toward the desired outcome, Review action items and new understandings. Coaching is a time when we sit down together and take a deeper look at something that's going on in your life. I support you in understanding how your brain works, recognizing patterns, updating belief systems, and finding meaningful solutions for whatever you're struggling with at the moment.

What types of things can I talk about in coaching?

Coaching is about meeting you where you're at and helping you get to where you want to be. Typically we focus each session around one or more specific areas you'd like to grow in. They can be ADHD specific, but they don't have to be. Some ideas: Emotional regulation, Motivation & task initiation, Maintaining healthy relationships, Setting boundaries, Managing stress, overwhelm, and burnout, Perfectionist tendencies, Routines and habits, Deciding what's important and what to let go of, Prioritizing/managing tasks and time, Breaking down big goals and difficult tasks. Additionally, some clients will choose to use our time just chatting and getting clarity about how ADHD is showing up in their life, or they'll ask me to sit with them while they clean out a closet or start on a task they've had difficulty starting on. You're welcome to use our time together however it'll help you most.

Is there ever homework?

Usually at the end of a session clients will leave with something to try out or work on. I prefer to call them 'experiments' because the goal is less about completion, and more about testing out tools and learning about what works best for you.
